Shea Vassar is a writer and comedian currently based between Brooklyn and Oklahoma. She dabbles in various creative mediums which utilize existentialism to look at Indigenous diaspora, generational trauma, and the irony of being alive.

Shea produces live performances under Howdy Cat Comedy. Her ‘That’s Poetic!’ show, which Timeout NY calls “the lovechild you didn’t know you needed” due to its mix of jokes and poetry, is in residency at Friends & Lovers in Crown Heights.

A retired journalist whose bylines have been published by Men’s Health, Roger Ebert, and all over the internet, Shea still writes about television via her newsletter ‘Shea Watches TV’.

Most importantly, Shea is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation who loves her tuxedo cat, Orpheus.
